The Dive Shack's Standard Open Water Diver Course will prepare you to safely and confidently dive to depths of 18 metres either with a dive professional or with a friend who is also certified to dive. Whether you have always dreamed about being able to breath underwater or are curious to see what lies beneath the surface and explore the oceans of the world, The Dive Shack’s PADI Open Water Diver Course is the place to start!

The Open Water Diver Course schedule:

Home study (8 -10 hours): Open Water Diver Course E-learning (Theory)

Thursday Evening 5.30pm-8.00pm: Orientation night - Equipment sizing and fitting (Subject to change or at a mutually convenient time with your instructor prior to the commencement of your pool sessions)

Friday evening 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm:  Pool Session (Subject to change)

Saturday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm:   Shore Based Ocean Dive 1 & 2

Sunday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm:    Boat Based Ocean Dives 4 and 5 + Complete paperwork for certification at the shop and receive a FREE Double Boat dive!

Don’t forget, upon completion of your course, when you dive on our boat we will have a dive professional on board who can buddy with you at no extra charge when you present your FREE boat dive voucher that you receive at the completion of your course!

To participate in this course, you will have to:

• complete 8 to 10 hours of online theory
• fill out a medical questionnaire prior to commencement of the course to check whether you are fit to dive (please see below for more information)
• be able to swim 200 metres in a pool
• be able to float or tread water for 10 minutes in a pool.
• Be a minimum age of 12 years of age. Every student under the age of 18 needs to have a parent or a guardian sign a consent form (available from us and to be completed on the first training session). Students younger than 15 years old will attain a Junior Open Water Scuba Diver certification. 

Important Conditions:

You must complete a dive medical questionnaire, any yes
answers will require you have a dive medical by a dive physician prior to the
course commencement. You must be able to comfortably swim a distance of 200
meters. You must complete all online learning requirements before commencement
of your course.

Catering

You will need to supply your own food and drinks during the course!

Late Arrival or Non-Attendance

If for some reason you need to arrive later than the start time please contact The Dive Shack on 0417814857. You are required to attend all training days and complete all dives to receive your Open Water Diver
Certification. If you are unable to attend on any day, you must contact
The Dive Shack.

Cancellations and Booking Changes

Any booking changes within 5 working days prior to the course commencement will incur a $200.00 administration fee. Any cancellations made less than 48 hours prior will be charged the full course price. No refunds are payable on any course not completed inside12 months.
